Take a good look, friends. What you are seeing here is true love. I fall for things on a daily basis (shoes, bags, clothes), but I rarely find myself head over heels smitten by anything. This Irving & Fine for Lucky Brand jacket was my downfall. I first saw it in People StyleWatch last month. When it finally launched on their site, it sold out in a matter of 24 hours. I finally tracked it down at Lucky (Austin’s Barton Creek Mall) and picked it up Tuesday. It’s all beaded and sequined and embroidered (sigh). I know it’s kind of trendy this season with all the attention to global looks, but I have a feeling it’ll stay in my closet for years. It just makes me happy. How I gravitate toward both rocker-esque and bohemian aesthetics at the same time will never make sense to me but I guess that’s what personal style is all about. Again, not really maternity style but it works for everyone as you can tell by my growing bump.
The tee that I’m wearing is from Shade Clothing. I had a yen to try their maternity t-shirts a few weeks ago when they went on clearance, so I ordered a few basics. Larges were huge, mediums were snug. Fit-wise, I think I’ll get more use of them once I have le babe. There’s no room in here for a 9-month bump. Otherwise, the material is substantial and comfortable. It’ll do for now, plus it matches the jacket perfectly.
